Cold fingers, happy heart

I just finished busking on the corner of Queen and Kenelworth in Toronto. It was cold and beautiful. I got four hellos, one person dancing and a few thank yous. A great experience. This is all part of my attempt to play music live. I have a bunch of songs that I have been working on, and a bunch of covers that I have changes to fit my style. I am nervous. I am scared. I am going to play for people. The nervousness and fear I will use as fuel to get me on stage. It will be my vulnerability and honesty that will be my style. It is who I am.

Hope and the Seeting Sun Part 7

Cas a Julia spent 10 years together. Fighting, loving, learning. It was a tough marriage but one that brought many teachings, many lessons and a whole lot of stories. The ending was rough, the future is clear and full of potential. Mostly Cas wanted to thank Julia for the time and for ebing there while Cas rebuilt his life. The adventure is over, the story is closed, their time has passed, the journey complete. Cas has bowed his head and honored Julia for the last time. Time and life will drift them apart, maybe never to meet again.

So long my friend, happy and safe journey. Be well, be loved and be strong. Keep on keeping on, keep fighting the good fight and above all else love yourself.

Witch Doctor House Call (Fear is what keeps you in line....)

Pharmaceutical companies use fear and doubt to keep you in line with their program. They are masters at it. They manipulate, trick and use every which way they can to keep you from taking responsibility and learning about your own body and health. There are infinite options when it comes to holistic/natural healing. Diet, herbs, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, homeopathy, massage, cranio sacral therapy, placebos, shamanism, reiki, compassion, love, community, essential oils, chi kung, and sooooooo much more. Everything listed above has thousands of years of testing, research and proof that they WORK!!!!!

If you ever hear that something or other does not work, or research shows that herbal formulas are unsafe, just look up the amount of overdosed, side effected people from the pharmaceutical companies. Wake up people, drugs are bad, healing is good. Stop listening to the news, the spin doctors, the media for your health information. Start listening to your neighbors, your health food store owners, your naturopaths, your herbalist, your medicine people, your grandparents, your elders, your heart, your intuition. Your health matters and YOU and YOU alone are responsible for it. There is no doctor in the world that can cure you of anything, you can find the solution, learn the lesson and gain health with the help of many doctors, Medical doctors and Which Doctors alike.

Imagination is the best medicine ever......

Top 5 favorite senses

So I know there are only supposed to be 5 senses, but let me take you on a little journey into how I see those 5 senses. Also with limited selection it was not tough to decide what made the list....

1. Hearing - Raw sound is one of my favorite things in the world. I close my eyes and listen to the river running behind my home. I listen to the chorus of bird calls in the forest. There is nothing like it. Nothing that can explain the multitudes of notes, chords and perfection that comes from nature. Raw natural sound is by far my favorite thing. I love my ears, I love music, I love listening to people. I love Hearing

2. Smell - When the summer hits, and the forest dries out from the spring rains, the smells left behind or intoxicating. You can smell hundreds of plants, the dirt, the animals. You can smell flowers, trees, bushes and the running water. The smell of a hot summer day is unparalleled by any man/woman made or extracted smell. Perfumes are to me one of humans worst inventions. It misses the point. If I could not smell the world around me, and when there are to many perfumes I have trouble smelling anything but them, then I would be missing a great deal of what is going on.

3. Touch - To have a soft hand gently caress my body. To run my fingers through someones hair. To feel another heart beating, to feel the release of tension and stress from a good massage, to feel the soft sand and cool ocean water under my bare feet, to feel the warmth of a hot cup of tea on a cold winter day, to feel is to connect, to be to understand where one is at any given time. If you ever get lost in this world, over stressed, unsure, panicked, just stop and feel everything around you. Check in with your body.... feeling.... being present

4. Taste - Fuck I love food. I really love good food. Local, fresh, well cared for, honest wholesome food. I love it when food is cooked with care and time. I love the medicine of food. Food is the first medicine. I lvoe th flavors of what passes my lips. I love the taste of another on my lips. I love the bitter, the sweet, the sour, the salty and the astringent. I love the endless combinations, the multitude of flavors, the gift of taste is one that needs to be nourished and developed.

5. Sight - When putting together this list I thought of sight as the one sense that I would be OK with loosing if I had to choose one. Mostly because the others are so much more layered and textured and integral to me. I love my sight, I have very good sight, I love the colours, the dimensions, the angles, the ability to move fast when needed. I love to see.

The sun is not enough. We need a new Sun.

I love the sun. I appreciate all it gives us and all we can experience with it. I also know that the sun is only a very small spec in the eyes of the universe. The universe is my alternative power source of choice. I see humans as addicted to the sun. We get out food, electricity and power and most of our light from the sun. We are in a crisis of late when it comes to power and food. Too many people not enough sun to sustain the human population. We are trying to be creative knowing that fossil fuels are limited. We start to use food as fuel, but it just adds to the food problem. We try to grow locally, organically but we can not grow the amount of food necessary to support the 7 billion or so people on this planet. I believe we could grow enough but it is a very tricky situation to make that food accessible to everyone.

THere are stop gaps like solar electricity or wind, but we would need to drastically cut our power consumption in order to rely on solar or wind. I do not believe we will do that, we as humans will want more power in the future not less. More new technology, more travel, more advancement. It all takes power. What we need is a more practical source of power. Something that is unlimited, does not pollute and is sustainable for every generation to come. I do not think we will find it in the sun, or on this planet, I think it will come when we figure out that the entire universe is a power source.

I am not a scientist or a physicist. I do not have a mathematical solution to this problem. I just feel that deep in my soul that there is a way to have unlimited power. I bet there is a power source that could sustain everything we could imagine with no side effects. I believe it exists. Maybe we can not understand it because it is something that we have to do together. Imagine that. A power source that can only be tapped into if every human works together. What if our collected consciousnesses were the key to unlocking that unlimited power source. I am not talking about God or some enlightened beings coming together, just love. If every human worked as hard as they could at loving themselves and others, I know, 100% sure, that we would have insights beyond our wildest imaginations. I also know that we could do anything, ANYTHING, if we learned to love ourselves and others.

I am committed to spending the rest of my life learning how to love myself and others. That is my sole task on this planet. That is what I will do.

Witch Doctor House Call (Sesame Oil)

I have mentioned this before. Seriously magical stuff available everywhere you go. Sesame oil has helped me and a lot of people I know with psoriasis, dry scalp, sun burns (absolutely magical when one has a sunburn).

All you do is take sesame oil, not the toasted kind, and put it right on your skin. Put is on your scalp for a scalp treatment. I prefer to use it when before I get into the shower. I find the heat from the shower opens my pours and my body just soaks up the sesame oil.  Try mixing in a few drops of your favorite essential oil, or blend some.

My skin is happy, my friends are happy with it. I do not make a cent of off this blog. I share cause I am excited and want to talk to people about their experiences with Sesame oil. Try it and let me know what happens, hell let everyone know.

And remember, Imagination is the best medicine.

Manly Sex Talk (The art of subtlety)

I have a very keen sense of smell. Actually I can tell a lot about a person by having a passing whiff of their perfumes. What I find the most ridiculous aspect of womanhood is the overdone perfume habit. Not only the "put on too much perfume", but the "way to many smells" and the "No consistency" smells turn me right off.

THe art of smelling good or attractive is to know your own scent/pheromones and augmenting them. Actually a women who has a very subtle smell attracts me a most of my male friends instantly. We all agree that it is a gift to find a woman who has a mysterious smell. The strong perfumed woman we consider the fact that they have something to hide or they are not confident in their own self enough to just be themselves. Confidence goes a long way in turning us men on.... at least the men worth turning on.

Woman are aware of the art of makeup and that the art is to make it look like they are not wearing any. I say the same holds true for the art of perfumes. Be aware that we live in a time that EVERYTHING has perfumes in it. Shampoos, lotions, creams, makeup, hand sanitizers, perfumes, even our clothes. Our breath smells we have mints, our car smells we have Fabreeze, our clothes smell we have detergents. Be careful, be sure and be yourself.

The purpose of life....

We are tiny little things. Specs in this universe. You think we can destroy this planet? Nope, we can not destroy this magnificent place. We can hurt it, we can bruise it, we can change it just so that humans are no longer welcome here. Worry not about the Dolphins or the Polar Bears, they are a side not tot he the damages and saving them in impossible. What the real danger is, is saving ourselves. Humans are an engangered species. WE have become highly addicted to a way of life that is unsustainable. We are no longer capable of taking care of ourselves. We are rarely able to change when needed. We are dying and doing nothing about it.

So what can be done? I think I have seen the truth and want to share it with everyone. What can be done is we need to start to listen to our hearts. We need to recognize that each one of us is just as important as the Dolphins, the Polar Bears, as anyone on the planet. Our job here is to be our fullest selves and let nothing or no one get in our way. We are to connect with our hearts, with our inner selves with the fact that we are nature, we are this planet, we are the universe, not part of it. Every bruise we leave on this planet we are leaving on ourselves.

The purpose to life is to reconnect with ourselves. We are truly an endangered species and I would be VERY sad if humans ceased to exist.

Top 5 Favorite things people do

1. Kindness. Not politeness, or some sort of saccharine version of kindness, but genuine heartful kindness. A well timed kind word, a soft touch, a shout of support, a thoughtful gift. I love kindness when it comes from the persons heart, when there is no attachment to reciprocation.

2. Risk - When I see someone take a risk, a calculated chance based on theit own needs and passions I get very excited. Whatever it is that you want to do, the more you risk, the more likely you will acheive that goal. You might fall down a lot but I love to see the risk and the get back to it if the risk does not pay out.

3. Hug - A good hug is so important. If you are being hugged daily or at least weekly then you have some work to do in your life. Let people touch you. Create a community where you are hugged and can be hugged. Be the first to hug others. Bring back the hug!!!!

4. Honesty - This one has a stipulation that goes with it. Honesty is powerful and dangerous. TO me honesty needs a great deal of tact. Presenting honesty in a thoughtful, constructive, loving way is brilliant. Presenting honesty in a harsh, in your face way is selfish and an abuse of the truth you hold for the other person. Be honest with yourself, be kind to yourself. Be honest with others, be kind with others.

5. Play - COME ON PEOPLE WE NEED TO PLAY MORE. I see WAY to much seriousness out there. Dont let fear get in the way of doing something stupid....

5 favorite Shadows I have

More Top 5s. Starting to have fun. For those who need help with this one, what I mean when I say Shadows is the weaknesses, insecurities, anything that is part of me, makes me who I am, that I love that are not shinny, clean and "socially acceptable". Go with me on this one....

1. Fear of Abandonment - I do not love half way. I love fully. When I love someone, intimately or socially, I have a tough time letting go. I understand the reality that some friendships and relationships are forever and some have an expiry date. I have learned that I can continue to love those who have drifted away in my life. I have learned that reciprocation is not a must from those I love. In fact if I love people freely, I get to love them more wholly. So many lessons from the fear of being rejected, left or abandoned.

2. Impatience - For people who know me they might say this makes no sense. I appear to be a very patient person. The truth is is that I am not patient at all. I am continuously frustrated by the slow progress of people, culture and humanity. WE have all we need to be happy and free yet we choose to stop/limit ourselves. We are surrounded by love and loving communities yet we choose to live in fear and in pain. It pisses me off. I have little to no patience with stupidity, ignorance or people who complain and do nothing about it. Impatience is a gift that I honor as it pushes me and helps me to push those around me.... sometimes a little to hard... still working on this one.

3. Selfishness - I deserve the best of this world. I know this. It does not mean that I get to be at the front of the line, it means I want to experience everything I can, including a healthy community, a strong and healthy environment and a peaceful culture. My selfishness has taught me about my need to work on helping the people and world around me. I can not be happy if others suffer. So I stop my own suffering, my own pains, my own unnecessary dramas and I share what I learn so others might get something from this experience.

4. Teeth - Shit I have bad teeth. I have spent more money on dentistry then any other profession. I floss, I brush, I clean, I do not eat candy, I get a cleaning done on a regular basis. I still have cavities, need root canals. Man I struggle with this one. It humbles me and keeps me grounded. It reminds me of the fragility of the human body. It keeps me connected to this world in a way nothing else does. I am grateful and honored to have this Shadow.

5. Heart - My heart does not beat well. It has not for a while. A few years ago I have a serious swelling of the pericardium and had to have someone surgically cut it. Since then my heart has beaten to another drum, literally. When I am tired, stressed, weakened for any reason, my heart beats fast and strong. It shakes my whole body, it moves at a high rate. My heart works hard, it pushes and tries to do so much.... it does not rest.

Phfew!!!! That was a tougher one then I expected.

5 greatest accomplishments in My Life

1. Being alive. I have made it this far. I have brushed up with death a few times, have been very sick, have pushed myself to dangerous limits, have opened to deep healing and releasing. I am still alive and able to participate and experience the beauty and wonder of this universe. I am so blessed and grateful for this opportunity.

2. Transformation. I am transformed my life and myself a few times. I have let go of everything in order to move past unhealthy habits, lifestyles and routines. I have worked very hard to create a life that is in harmony with my inner desires and my dreams. I am worth the life of my dreams and I will allow it to be....

3. Self love. I was once someone who thought a talked poorly about myself. I had a lot of negative self talk. I felt like a looser, an idiot and failure and ugly inside and out. This is no more. I have retrained my self talk, opened to self love and have learned to honor and care for myself. I have mush more to learn and move through but I am surely in love with myself and I am a great lover.

4. Family and community. Allowing beautiful and loving people into your life and allowing their personalities not to trigger you but to inspire you is one thing I have worked at learning how to do. My family members are brilliant and strong people that teach me deep lessons. They are part of me and know me better then anyone. My community are just as much a part of me as my family. I am surrounded by people who love me and I accept the love they give in the way they give it. Once I learned to give myself the love I only could give I was freed of looking for it from family and community. I am now free to feel the love of the people around me with no attachments.

5. My blog. I love to write. I need to practice. I am learning how to write and have committed to this blog and kept at it regardless of the readership. This is a sacred packed I have with my writing. I have something to share and I am learning how to voice that using words and grammar and finding my writers voice. I am curious as to where this whole thing will go......

5 Favorite and Most Influencial Popular Musicians in My Life

Another top 5 list, I got dozens of these. I have been taking stock in my life and realizing that I have had some very important and powerful supports that come from outside my personal life. Just want to share for the act of sharing. I do not make any money off of this blog, it is a labor of love.

1. Neil Young - No one has influenced me more. A Canadian boy who did it his way. He was out of tune, pissed on record execs, never sold out and experimented with every type of music. He wrote thousands of songs, any of them could be considered a masterpiece, he play slow love ballads, hard rock, hip hop, joyful redemption songs, heart breaking songs, and all of them his own way.

2. Bruce Cockburn - Another Canadian boy. By far the best guitar player int he singer song writer category. One of the most influencial on my music playing and with lines like "Nothing worth having comes without some kinda fight, you have to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight" who can be anything by in aw of this man

3. Feist - I want to marry this girl. She gets me going and in a way that no one else does. Wow, what a performer. She leaves nothing behind, risks everything, takes the chances necessary to be an Goddess. She plays guitar as if she owns it, she incorporates every noise and style she can and she is only beginning. Not to mention she reinvented herself a few times in her life, which is an accomplishment in itself. If you are in deep transition or want to start one in your life then give this lady your ear....

4. Nina Simone - THere are not words for this lady. If you have not been introduced to the world of Nina then you are not alive and have missed something special in this world. Find her, listen and be part of the world of Nina....

5. Stan Rogers - No one has heard of Stan Rogers but he is the greatest folk signer of the last 100 years. He was a big man, with VERY big hands. Stan died in a fire aboard a plane that was waiting to take off. The story goes that he died in a fire on a plane.  Smoke was filling the cabin from an unknown source, and once on the ground, the plane's doors were opened to allow passengers to escape. Approximately 60 to 90 seconds into the evacuation of the plane, the oxygen rushing in from outside caused a flash fire. Rogers was one of the passengers still on the plane at the time of the fire. Most of the survivors say that they felt a person with big hands throwing them from the burning plane.....
